Creating Effective Online Discussions
Robust research indicates that students who engage in online discussion have higher course completion rates and better outcomes, develop diverse perspectives and interactive skills, and build better online community. However, research also suggests that student thinking levels are lower and thus instructors find online discussions less effective than they would like. In this session, we will discuss effective strategies and structures for online discussion. Please come prepared to share your questions, challenges, and successes with the group.
