Solarize The Triad: Making Solar Affordable

October 11 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

The UNCG Office of Sustainability welcomes Solar CrowdSource and the Piedmont Environmental Alliance to discuss their new initiative, Solarize the Triad, a community-based group-purchasing program for solar energy, battery storage, and other clean energy technologies. The campaign helps homeowners, businesses and nonprofits become more resilient, reduce energy expenses, and save on the cost of renewable energy systems by obtaining volume discounts on materials and installation services – the more that participate, the greater the savings!

If you’re interested in solar for your home, now is a great time! Duke Energy Carolinas and Duke Energy Progress now also offer a “PowerPair” pilot program that provides one-time incentives on a limited basis first-come first-served basis. Residential customers could receive up to a $9,000 rebate, capped at $3,600 for rooftop solar and an additional rebate capped at $5,400 for pairing with a battery storage system.
