UNCG Libraries Webinar: Evaluating open access journal quality: Recognizing & avoiding predatory journals

“Evaluating open access journal quality: Recognizing & avoiding predatory journals” by Anna Craft, Tuesday February 11 at 12pm – *1 hour session
Open access publishing provides many benefits, including increased readership and higher citation rates. But when evaluating and selecting open publication venues, authors must be aware of practices and characteristics that are associated with predatory publishing. UNCG librarians can help you find appropriate and reputable journals to publish in and can assist you in identifying journals to avoid. This session will provide an overview of predatory and unethical publishing practices, offer methods and resources to help evaluate the quality of online journals, and show examples of red flags related to journal practices and quality.
