Volunteering reduces stress and increases positive, relaxed feelings by releasing dopamine. By spending time in service to others, volunteers report feeling a sense of meaning and appreciation, both given and received, which can have a stress-reducing effect. Working together to help others also increases our social wellbeing and helps build a support system for ourselves and our community. UNCG also supports volunteering by offering paid Community Service Leave!
HealthyUNCG is challenging you to join in on our Week of Service in honor of Employee Wellness Month. Join us in weeding the beds for the NIB on Oct 12th from 10-11am (meet on the Forney side and bring work gloves if you wish, we will provide the rest!) or find your own service opportunity for you or your department to participate in this week(or month)!
