An 8 week series to encourage self care and enhance personal growth. Hear from a variety of health and wellness experts on simple, manageable ways to cultivate your personal wellness.

Series begins March 4th and will be weekly on Thursdays at 11. Zoom link will be the same for all sessions. Join in on one or all. Sessions will be recorded as well. Session descriptions will be updated here and on our website, www.healthy.uncg.edu

Week 1 3/04: Self Care & Personal Growth, presented by HealthyUNCG Staff

Week 2 3/11: Mindful Movement, presented by Catie Payne, RecWell – Self-care looks different for every single person. Self-care does not need to be extravagant, grandiose, or expensive; it can simply be stepping back for a moment to breathe. In this session, you will learn techniques to integrate mindfulness into your day; incorporating breathing techniques and seated yoga postures that can be done at your desk in the office or at home. All postures will offer variations to support a wide range of abilities and age, as Catie Payne (she/her) is a yoga instructor who has a passion for creating opportunities for yoga to be accessible and inclusive for anyone. There is power in taking time for yourself and without a doubt, you deserve that time. Hope you will join us!

Week 4 3/25: Organizing Your Space & Wellness presented by Thayle Heggie, Health Coach and Professional Organizer – What does your desk say about you? How have you adapted your workspace during this past year? Spend some time learning about your space and how it is key to your productivity and overall wellness!

Week 5 4/1: Fueling Your Body, presented by Brittany Chesney, HealthyUNCG – Eating tasty and nutritious food is essential for health and well-being. Learn about how your food can serve you as a form of self-care.

Week 6 4/8: Bringing Nature In, presented by HealthyUNCG – Environments have the ability to increase or decrease our stress, which in turn impacts our wellbeing. Exposure to nature not only makes you feel better emotionally, it contributes to your physical wellbeing, by breducing blood pressure, tension, and stress. During this session, we will explore the world of biophilia, color theory, and more and how small changes  in your workspace can make a big impact in your wellness at work. 

Week 7 4/15: Financial Wellness, presented by Allegacy Federal Credit Union –Budgeting is one of the most fundamental aspects of financial health. Whether you have a budget that needs some tweaking or you are starting from scratch, this webinar will help you take the next step to a firmer financial foundation. During this virtual session, we will: Explore ways to manage financial stress; Learn how to create a realistic budget that can flex to meet your needs; Identify budgeting strategies to employ for greater financial wellness

Week 8 4/22: Growth and Reflections, presented by HealthyUNCG Staff – Self reflection is one of the best ways you can shift your mindset, increase positivity in your life, and discover a greater connection to yourself. It is also an essential skill for personal growth. Join us for the final session in our Cultivating Wellness Series as we discuss the importance of taking time to reflect and acknowledging growth or seeking growth.
