Proactive Practices: Addressing and Reducing Grading Bias

In this session, we will spend time exploring bias, dive deeper into grading bias, and discuss proactive practices that can be easily implemented by faculty to reduce the risk of bias in grading. This training is a collaboration between the Dean of Students Office’s Bias Education and Support Team and Information Technology Services’ Learning Technology team.

Learning Objectives:

  • Define bias and grading bias.
  • Identify and critique potential sources of bias.
  • Implement bias reduction grading practices using Canvas, including rubrics, anonymized grading, and randomized grading.

If you have accommodation requests, please contact me at [email protected] at least 24 hours prior to our training.
