The Dean of Students Office would like to invite new faculty, staff and UNCG Cares alumni to “UNCG Cares Virtually”! During this hour and a half training, UNCG faculty and staff will learn about:

• Various types of distress for students
• Recognizing signs of distress
• Strategies for reaching out to students
• Using effective helping skills
• Referral processes
• Campus and community resources available to assist you

Since many of us are interacting with students in a more virtual setting, we will also discuss helpful tips to engage with students in this way.  By creating an environment of support, students may seek help before issues escalate to the crisis level so we want you to feel empowered to assist them as you are able.

UNCG Cares Alumni are “strongly encouraged” to participate as we continue to add new information to this training session!  We look forward to seeing you soon!
