If you cannot make the live session, an email with the recording will be emailed out to participants.

September 14th, 11:30am: “Help! Predatory journal! What do I do?” by Anna Craft

The University Libraries offer resources and expertise to help UNCG researchers avoid entanglement with predatory and exploitative journals. Predatory publications prioritize self-interest and financial gain over scholarship, often charging authors to publish their work without providing peer review, editing, and other services associated with legitimate scholarly publishing. But what happens when you or someone you know mistakenly submits a manuscript to a predatory journal? And what happens when you find out that a predatory publication has listed you or one of your colleagues as a member of the editorial board, without permission? This session will address practical steps to take (or not take!) when dealing with predatory publications, as well as resources to help you avoid predatory journals altogether.
