August 18th, 1pm “Anti-plagiarism instruction that works!: Plagiarism and Instruction” by Jenny Dale
In this webinar, participants will learn creative strategies for teaching students how to avoid plagiarism. We often mention avoiding plagiarism in our assignments, but we rarely talk about how to actually do that until an academic integrity violation has been committed. But introducing students to plagiarism and strategies to avoid it doesn’t have to be punitive and after the fact. Join Jenny Dale, Information Literacy Coordinator in the University Libraries, to learn how you can integrate plagiarism instruction into your classes with reflective activities, pop culture case studies, and modeling strategies. Participants in this webinar will leave with ideas for teaching students to avoid plagiarism in a way that’s fun and engaging for students and instructors alike.
