SUMMARY:CTRL+ALT+Access: Creating Accessible Canvas Content
DESCRIPTION:All digital instructional materials must be WCAG 2.1 AA compliant by April 2026. If this statement comes as a surprise\, or the idea of the task feels daunting or overwhelming\, use this training as your starting point. We will introduce you to basic accessibility principles (SLIDE) that apply to many types of instructional materials\, but are specifically designed to support you with the technical “how-to” so you can begin putting some of those accessibility fundamentals into practice when building content in Canvas using the Rich Content Editor. \nPlease note that this is a repeat workshop from early Fall 2025. While you are welcome to join again\, please be aware that the content will repeat.

SUMMARY:Teaching Effectiveness: Beyond Course Evaluations
DESCRIPTION:This Workshop will focus on alternative inputs for evaluating teaching effectiveness (e.g.\, student work products\, course reviews\, mid-semester student feedback\, etc.). Using national models created by decades-long\, multi-institutional studies on the evaluation of teaching and learning\, this workshop will assist in the development of unit-level processes as part of the UNCG Teaching Effectiveness Policy . The UNCG Teaching Effectiveness Policy is pending final approval by the UNC System\, and was developed by an institutional work group in response to the UNC System Teaching Effectiveness Policy (400.3.1) and Regulation on Teaching Effectiveness(400.3.1.1[R]). The UNC System policy and regulation require all campus policies to include three inputs for measuring teaching effectiveness: course evaluations\, peer review\, and self-evaluations. The UNCG Policy mirrors the UNC System documents and requires that individual academic units develop procedures for meeting the minimum requirements.
