Getting Started with WordPress at UNCG: The Basics

If you’re brand new to WordPress, this course will help you learn the difference between Pages and Posts, how to create a site from scratch, and then how to update your site. There will be discussion of blocks and an overview of the basic building blocks in the UNCG theme. Learn the difference between a typical WordPress site and using WordPress at UNCG (not much…but some.) Participants should have departmental web manager responsibilities or be part of UNCG ITS Distributed Technology Staff.
Learning Objectives:
- Learn the basics of core WordPress and what it takes to get started with a site.
- Understand some of the nuances of working with WordPress at UNCG and the UNCG Theme.
- Develop an understanding of the basic core WordPress blocks and the key UNCG exclusive blocks for building a site.
- Get style and developer tips for creating engaging and informative pages.
